Back to school! 明けましておめでとうございます！
The first day of school was about welcoming the year and experiencing the Japanese culture altogether. Everyone participated in the trip to Musashi-Mitake shrine located at the summit of Mount Mitake.
The students, teachers, and staff rode a cable car all the way to the upper station. From there, they took a walk and saw a village with Japanese style inns and shops that was said to have been catering to pilgrims and visitors for centuries.
Upon arrival at the shrine, the students paid respects and some tried their luck by getting their own omikuji, a Japanese fortune-telling paper strips found at shrines and temples. Musashi-Mitake Shrine is believed to have been around for thousands of years serving as a center of worship at Mount Mitake.
